Saskatchewan attends IFT 2005 in New Orleans (July 13, 2005)

A Saskatchewan contingent of over 18 individuals from over 7 companies and organizations are going to the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo (IFT 2005) in New Orleans to spread the message, “Saskatchewan provides science and technology SOLUTIONS!”


Few places in the world host the ability, skills and resources necessary to take innovation to commercialization. Saskatchewan is one of those places!


Members of the Saskatchewan delegation will outline this potential to the more than 20,000 delegates from around the world attending IFT 2005, a world-renowned technology-based scientific conference and trade exposition for food ingredients and food industry services including major corporations like Kraft, Nestlè, Cargill, ADM, and other ingredient suppliers.


“This event marks the first time members from Saskatchewan’s natural health product and functional food industry have collaborated together to promote our unique capacity at an international event of this magnitude,” says the lead organizer for the IFT delegation, Dr. Carol Ann Patterson, Health and Wellness, Ag-West Bio Inc. “We are extremely excited to be working as a team. Together, our impact will be much stronger both for the cluster and for individual companies.”
